Description from the seller

Category: Art
Publication year: 2002
Print format: 90x60 cm
Illustrator: Marc Chagall

On the City is one of the most famous and poetic works by Marc Chagall, in which love takes on a metaphysical dimension. The couple suspended in flight above the rooftops of the native village of Vitebsk represents the transcendence of romantic love, elevating it above earthly concerns.

Elongated bodies, outstretched arms, and delicate colors tell of the lightness of feelings and the strength of imagination. The underlying architecture, clear and geometric, provides a counterpoint to the fluidity of the characters, in a perfect balance between dream and reality.

Printed by Impronteedizioni Cesena in 2002, this poster is a tribute to the artist's dreamlike vision, the Belarusian artist who became French.

The print is shipped in a rigid cardboard tube.
