Mambila (ou Mambilla, Mambere, Nor,
Torbi, Lagubi, Tagbo, Tongbo, Bang, Ble,
Juli, Bea) (les " hommes", en fulani), stallés au nord ouest du Cameroun, de part et d'autre de la frontière du Cameroun et du Nigéria, ont créé un grand nombre de masques et de statues Facilement identifiables par leur visage en forme de coeur. Bien que les Mambila croient en un dieu créateur nommé
Chang ou Nama, ils ne vénèrent que leurs ancêtres. Leurs chefs étaient ensevelis dans des greniers comme le ble car ils étaient censés symboliser la prospérité. Les Mambila sont
agriculteurs et cultivent principalement le café. Leurs masques et statues ne devaient pas être vus des femmes. Ce sont ces dernières qui réalisaient généralement les récipients en céramique
