M4 "Alice's Wonderland"), etc., were performed live with a new interpretation.
"Nostalgia in Times Square" is a vocal (with narration) version
It is a bonus track of "Dynasty".
In this live, you can see the whole band relaxed, free and enjoying playing.
The place is an art gallery, from classical fields such as Aaron Copeland, from jazz
MJQ, Cecil Taylor, Tony Scott, Mal Waldron and others have performed here.
Mingus played lively, perhaps because he liked that kind of atmosphere, and the band's ensemble was excellent. A quintet with two horns, developing Mingus style "jungle music". The feeling of going out is intelligent and avant-garde. The fact that it wasn't a normal jazz club gave Mingus freedom, and he performed a bass solo on every song. His one-finger playing style is strong, and each note with good graininess is deeply felt. The recording is good and each instrument can be heard clearly.
