Kruisigingsgroep – bisque porselein – Andenne, België – eind 19e / begin 20e eeuw

Verfijnde kruisigingsgroep in veelkleurig bisque porselein, afkomstig uit Andenne. De voorstelling toont Christus aan het kruis, met aan zijn voeten Maria en Johannes de Evangelist, troostend verenigd in hun verdriet. De expressieve houding en zachte gelaatsuitdrukkingen getuigen van groot vakmanschap en devotie. De basis is afgewerkt met vergulde ornamenten en verfijnde details, typerend voor de Belgische religieuze keramiek van die periode.

Het kruis mist het kleine plaatje met het opschrift INRI, maar verder is het geheel goed bewaard gebleven. De vergulding is mooi intact en de kleuren fris.

Het kruisbeeld is 46 cm hoog en verkeert in goede staat met lichte ouderdomssporen.
