GENERAL:
1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SE with approximately 147,000 kilometers. It is a national vehicle registered in Spain from new and has belonged to only two owners throughout its life, always kept in operation and regularly passing the ITV inspections. It has just undergone a tune-up. Although the iconic hood star appears in the photo shoot, unfortunately it was stolen at the end of a classic car fair.
Historical note about the model: Belonging to the famous W126 generation designed by Bruno Sacco, the S-Class launched in the late 70s redefined the concept of an international luxury saloon thanks to its innovations in aerodynamics, active safety and structural lightness. The 380SE version is powered by the renowned 3.8-liter M116 V8 engine with a light alloy block, a unit known for its smooth running, mechanical reliability and for representing the perfect balance between executive comfort of the era and highway performance.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The bodywork is in good overall condition and has never suffered a major accident, showing only the usual scratches from daily use that can be seen in the photographs. The paint retains good gloss, though it has several minor defects easily remedied. The undersides are in very good condition thanks to always having slept in a garage in a dry-climate city like Madrid; as seen in the images, it only shows some minimal surface rust of no real significance.
MECHANICS:
The engine and transmission have always been well maintained. However, due to the age of its most recent owner, it has been used very little in recent years, so it is advisable to perform a minor inspection and an additional tune-up.
INTERIOR:
The cabin is in good condition, very solid and with wear fully in line with its mileage. It is unknown whether the upholstery and interiors are the originals with which the car left the factory.
