Born from the combination of five casks distilled in 2013 — one first-fill bourbon (peated), three virgin oak, and one port pipe — and three casks distilled in 2014 — two quarter casks (chibidaru) and one red wine cask, the Chichibu Paris Edition 2020 stands out for its remarkable depth and originality.

Achieving the perfect harmony between maturation styles whose diversity rivals their complexity, it constantly shifts between refined classicism and vibrant exuberance.

Rich in surprises, its aromatic and flavour profile teems with small, vivid scenes, each more inspired and evocative than the last — a true tribute to the exceptional blending talent of Ichiro Akuto, founder of the distillery.

This whisky opens with a concentrated nose, revealing aromas of precious wood (beeswax) and exotic (pineapple) and candied fruits (pear). As it breathes, red fruit, smoky, and sooty notes emerge to enrich the aromatic palette.

On the palate, the initial attack is juicy, unveiling Williams pear notes, before the mid-palate turns malty and lightly peated.

The finish is spicy (black pepper and nutmeg), herbal (sage), and offers hints of licorice. The tasting experience concludes with exotic fruit notes (mango and passion fruit) and dark fruit aromas that recall the influences of Port and red wine.
