Description from the seller
A rare specimen of Leonhard Euler's work, The Theory of the Motion of Solid and Rigid Bodies, in the 1790 Greifswald edition, printed by A. F. Röse and described on the title page as 'new edition, enriched with the highly desired author's supplements and corrected'.
This fundamental work presents the general theory of the motion of rigid bodies, one of Euler's most important contributions to rational mechanics. It is considered the foundational text of kinematics and dynamics of solid bodies, containing the famous Euler's equations for rotation.
This 1790 edition revises and expands the original of 1765, including notes and supplements that consolidate the scientific discussion.
