Origine italiana, fine XX sec.
Una riproduzione accurata della celebre opera d'arte barocca, esposta presso la Galleria Borghese di Roma.

L’immagine eroica di David ha sempre personificato forza, coraggio e nobiltà. In questa rappresentazione l’eroe biblico è mostrato mentre, ruotato il busto, sta per scagliare la pietra che ucciderà il gigante Golia.

Il giovane è come fissato in un brevissimo momento di sosta, nel passaggio repentino fra due movimenti contrapposti: l’estensione del braccio che si prepara a colpire e quello immediatamente successivo del lanciare. È il culmine dell’azione, fissato come in un fotogramma.
