Giuseppe Martinelli (Viareggio 01/19/1930 - Milan 07/15/2016). Italian Bar 1959 - Mixed technique on paper in a wooden frame. Signed and dated at the bottom right. On the back, paper labels for the 1968 exhibition at the 'V Mostra Nazionale della grafica di costume e dell'incisione' containing the artist's name, title of the work, dimensions 50 x 70 cm, and the exhibition date 1968. In good condition. The artist, a proponent of the artistic movement known as 'Existential Realism,' influenced by the informal current, also adopted a figurative style of expressionism. His latest works feature mixed techniques with gesturality and emotionality increasingly merging with abstraction. His works are also preserved at the Museo Permanente in Milan and in the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo in Brescia.
