Description from the seller
GENERAL
Land Rover Defender 90 Puma 2.4 TD4 from 2008, with 218,000 kilometres on the odometer, presented in excellent overall condition and fully road-ready. This model belongs to the generation commonly known for the Ford Duratorq-originated “Puma” engine, introduced to meet Euro 4 emissions standards, featuring a six-speed manual gearbox that significantly improved highway driving comfort and a maximum torque of 360 Nm available from 2,000 rpm. The vehicle underwent a complete renovation in 2024 and retains all the mechanical robustness and classic originality that characterise the Defender's iconic character.
BODYWORK AND PAINT
The bodywork is straight and solid, having been fully repaired where necessary. All panels were removed and painted individually to achieve the best finish and the most uniform possible. The paint is in excellent overall condition, with only two small marks on the door pillars, as shown in the photos. During the restoration process, the Defender was completely dismantled, allowing the chassis to be properly galvanised and repainted. All seals, rubbers, wheels, tires, the roof frame, and the corresponding Exmoor Trim Mohair roof were completely replaced, and the exterior lighting was updated to LED technology.
MECHANICS
The 2.4 Puma TD4 engine is running well and has been fully overhauled, ensuring good performance and easy starts both cold and hot. The gearbox was completely rebuilt and fitted with a new clutch, while the transfer case was also fully rebuilt. The differentials have been fully overhauled and are operable. The braking system has undergone a complete overhaul, including installation of new discs, calipers, and lines. The suspension has been renewed and the steering box fully rebuilt, functioning perfectly with all revisions and maintenance duly carried out.
INTERIOR
The interior is in excellent condition, having been fully renewed with leather upholstery and the cabin fully lined with carpet. The dashboards and panels are in excellent condition. All major electrical controls are fully operational, and the dashboard has been supplemented with a modern sound system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The vehicle remains simple and functional, preserving the utilitarian and purist character typical of the Defender.
DOCUMENTS
The vehicle has a Portuguese registration and all documentation is perfectly in order, with the mandatory periodic inspection (MOT) valid until November 2026.
PICKUP / DELIVERY
The vehicle can be viewed and test-driven by appointment, with collection in Lisbon, Portugal, being mandatory, and pickup and transport at the purchaser’s expense.

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
