Dutch Slingerglas with White Slinger – Circa 1780
A particularly elegant and completely pristine Dutch sling glass, made around 1780. This refined glass features a beautifully executed white sling (opaque twist) in the stem – a typical decorative feature of the Dutch glassblowing tradition from the late eighteenth century.
Description
Period: circa 1780
Origin: the Netherlands
Material: clear, mouth-blown glass with a white glass core in the stem
Design: a classic goblet shape with a slender, smooth stem and no knob in the foot.
Decoration: a white spiral ('garland') that runs gracefully along the stem and catches the light nicely.
Country:
In excellent, sound condition, without cracks, chips, or restorations.
Glass clear and pure, with slight irregularities and air bubbles typical of handmade glass from this period.
