Antique French mantel clock with Renaissance figure, gilded spelter on alabaster, enamel dial with Roman numerals and bell strike.

Rich, decorative pocket clock? Wait it says pendule ca. eind 19e eeuw – I'll translate: Rich, decorative mantel clock ca. end of the 19th century with enamel dial (2 winding holes) and bell strike; visible wear to the gilding, crack in alabaster plateau.

Decorative antique mantel clock in French style with standing Renaissance figure beside a round timepiece. Case in gilded spelter/bronze patina with scrolls, shell motifs and floral ornaments; panels and feet in alabaster. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and two winding holes for movement and bell strike (rear side visible).

Condition appropriate for age: wear to the gilding, dust in the ornaments, small damages/hairline cracks around the winding holes, and a crack/glued spot in the alabaster top plate; signs of old repair at the crown. Function not tested; sold as pictured (key/pendulum only if visible in photos). Gorgeous, striking piece for a mantel, sideboard or entrance.
