AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rusted metal wall sculpture, 2025, SOLD BY ARTIST, FROM LATEST EXHIBITION

An artwork "OCTOPUS" 2025 from Eastern European artist in fourth generation - Arturs Dimiters. Artwork is put on auction after the artists fourth solo exhibition "The Weight of Paint" in Wester Bank exhibition hall.

SOLO EXHIBITION
THE WEIGHT OF PAINT

People look for signs to guide them, and artists look for signs that make creation worthwhile. The motif of the exhibition is the search for new forms and parallel realities of abstract shapes, which are placed in their contextual frames not by the artist, but by each viewer with their own contribution. The flowing, biomorphic nature of color allows one to approach the work associatively. Without burdening the viewer with excessive content, but allowing the paint to speak for itself as a three-dimensional substance. Each image has its own character, its own emotionality. Zoomorphic creatures reveal themselves one after another, they are not indifferent. They are like witnesses to seemingly apparent randomness, which, like the current of the created world, passes through any matter.

The silhouette is the most reduced type of shape, which helps to weigh the excess and not burden the work with distracting, secondary elements. At the same time, it is also complex, because it leaves no room for error. It can express everything, but only by discarding the unneccessary.

Where to find the words to express what these characters I have found are? What are the stories they will tell you?

Arturs Dimiters (2000) is a multidisciplinary artist. In his personal projects, he works with photography, video, audio, sculpture, painting, and drawing, combining these media with his experience in creating various projects, events, and cultural processes. Arturs Dimiters' primary object of artistic research is the constant search for new images that can be multi-layered and suggestive, yet laconic and harmonious in their external form. He is currently studying for a master's degree at the Sculpture Department of the Art Academy of Latvia.

Artists sculpture made from 4mm metal. A layer of rusted patina on the metal creates diverse gradients of color and various grain patterns. Sculpture has welded metal supports that can be used to hang the work safely.
