Cambodian Gilt Bronze Lamp with Khmer Shakyamuni Buddha Showing Dhyana Mudra
Origin: Thailand / Imported to Western Europe
Year of Manufacture: 1960 – 1969
Manufacturer: Unknown (probably Hollywood Regency style decorative goods)
## Description
I offer a unique table lamp that combines a finely gilded bronze statue of the Buddha in a meditation pose with an elegant metal lampshade. The statuette depicts the Buddha in the so-called Bhumisparsha mudra (touching the earth), which creates a sense of peace and harmony in the interior. The lampshade has a slightly bell-shaped shape with a subtle gold trim on the edge.
- Dimensions (width × depth × height including lampshade): 28 × 28 × 47 cm
- Material: bronze with gold-plated patina
- Cable length: approx. 150 cm, including lamp holder
- Condition: functional, minor signs of use consistent with age
