Mosellandschaft is a 19th‑century oil painting from Germany.
Description from the seller
Moselle landscape with church village, attributed to Jean Peters (born 1824, Antwerp; later active in Germany).
Oil on canvas, approximately 59 × 89 cm (canvas size).
Without a visible signature, on the back an old adhesive label with the artist's designation and handwritten note/date (probably 1864).
Highlights
Harmonious river landscape of the Düsseldorf school: path along the riverbank, reflective water, village church in the valley, staffage figures; warm light treatment and finely detailed vegetation.
Authentic back-side receipts (an old label with 'PETERS, JEAN ... Mosellandschaft ...' and handwritten note).
Decorative format 59 × 89 cm, classic motif of the Mosel.
state
Used, overall well-maintained original condition: surface dirt, occasional small paint chips/scratches, and edge marks – cleaning would noticeably refresh the colors. The canvas is taut; no major damages visible. Please note the photos – they are part of the description.
