Description from the seller

Splendid Pair of Meneses Three-Candles Candlesticks
A magnificent pair of three-candles candlesticks, exemplifying the refinement and quality of mid-20th-century Spanish silversmithing. These pieces are ideal for adding a touch of classic elegance and brilliance to any dining room, living room, or collection.
-Origin: Spain
-Manufacturer: Meneses. The "Meneses" brand is a renowned name in Spanish silversmithing, especially known for its production of high-quality tableware and decorative pieces in silver and silver-plated alpaca.
-Estimated Period: Mid-20th Century (approximately 1940-1960)
-Style: Neoclassical/Transitional. It features a classic, symmetrical silhouette with an octagonal base and neck, reminiscent of Neoclassical designs, but with polished, modern lines on the arms, typical of a later style.
-Material: Silver-Plated Alpaca;
-Technique: Casting, Turning, and Silver Plating.
-Ornamentation: The decoration is based on form and profiles.
An octagonal, faceted base and neck.
A stylized stem (central foot) with fluted profiles.
Curved arms with an elegant scroll or "S" design.
Octagonal cups and saucers for candles, following the shape of the base.
-Total Height: 40 cm
-Maximum Width (from arm to arm): 35 cm
-Base Diameter: 15 cm
-Condition: Good condition considering its age and use.
-Details to consider: The silver plating maintains an excellent shine. A light patina is visible, along with some surface marks or fine scratches consistent with age and cleaning, which only add character to the piece. It should be noted that:
The arms have a little play, probably a screw or something similar needs to be tightened
On one of the candlesticks I discovered a crack in the central area between the arms (circled in the yellow circle), slightly visible, of c. 8mm. (see images)
-Marks: Clearly marked on the base with the stylized "M" symbol in the Meneses style, the inscription "MENESES," and the quality mark (a circle with an "A" inside).
Shipping is by registered mail with tracking number and/or insurance.
