Splendid oil on cardboard by the important Swiss painter Richard Ranft, a student of Gustave Courbet and active for a long time in Paris. Characteristic soft post-impressionist brushwork, warm light, and atmosphere typical of his best period. The subject featuring a deer in the autumn forest is among the artist's most sought-after works.
Conditions: very good, vivid colors, no color loss, uniform age craquelure, no visible restoration.
