Plate - Porcelain - FINE AND RARE DOUCAI

A fine Doucai plate with floral motives - Kangxi/Yongzheng period.

Finely depicted flowers with a brown border in a Doucai palette.
Doucai (or “contrasted colours”) wares are of very high and refined quality. A combination of underglaze blue outlines with overglaze enamels.

Due to the difficulty in making and firing these wares, often with bad results, Doucai porcelain is very sought after by collectors.

Dimensions: 22cm
Condition: one chip on the backside which shows only a little bit on the front side. Some chipping on the footring. See pictures.
