The cat perches atop the little girl’s head, enormous and surreal - like the gentlest, fluffiest hat imaginable. The girl looks down, thoughtful and concerned, while he peers carefully from above, mirroring her worry and deep thoughts. He is her giant protector, wise and watchful, perhaps deciding her future the way the Sorting Hat decides a wizard’s path.
