Description from the seller

London 1899 David & John Wellby

Finely crafted antique coffee pot made of solid Sterling Silver, manufactured in 1899 in London. The pot features an opulent, floral relief decoration with lush floral motifs and Baroque elements. On the body, there is an empty cartouche field. The elegantly shaped spout is gracefully curved, and the domed lid with a twisted knob fits precisely.

A special detail is the artfully braided, colorfully decorated handle made of rattan or bamboo, which gives the object an appealing exotic touch and at the same time ensures a secure grip.

The ground stakes include:
The crowned leopard head (London city brand)
The walking lion (sterling silver)
- The annual letter 'd' for 1899.
- The master mark 'D & J W,' assigned to the renowned silversmiths David & John Wellby (active 1896–1902 in London).

Dimensions and weight
- Height: approximately 20 cm
- Width (belly): approximately 10 cm
- Weight: approx. 319 g

A charming collectible piece of British silversmith art from the turn of the 20th century – both decorative and functional.

Condition: Very good, age-appropriate signs of use. No significant damage, patina intentionally preserved.

Images are part of the description.

Minor color deviations from the original due to lighting conditions may be possible in the photo. Any additional costs or fees such as customs duties or import charges, as well as customs clearance and handling fees, are the responsibility of the buyer.
