Red half-morocco with corner pieces, smooth back decorated with gold tools, title and illustrator stamped in gold, gold border on the covers, covers preserved without the back (E. Carayon).

Original illustrated edition with 59 copper and wood engravings, drawn, engraved, and printed by Auguste Lepère, including 5 full-page etchings (including the frontispiece of the preface mixed with wood, on a double page).
One of the numbered copies, enriched with the subscription notice bound at the end.
