We're talking about 1962, when CVNE produced the amazing 1962 Viña Real Reserva Especial, labeled that way because they considered it truly exceptional, a wine that has consistently showed great every time I have encountered it. This occasion was no different, as it ranked among the favorite vintages for most of us tasting that evening. It's really splendorous, polished, elegant, intense, subtle and chameleonic, full of spices, autumn forest aromas, smoke, meat, and fruit. Tonight the 1962 was above 1964, 1966 and 1968. A truly spectacular bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025"
