Original edition limited to 453 copies, constituting the first volume of the collection 'Mœurs du siècle' directed by Roger Allard to serve as a record of contemporary manners and pleasures. (Issue number 289 for sale).
It is illustrated with 20 beautiful original etchings by Marcel Vertès (1895-1961) within the text and on full pages.
Covered with a pink, padded, broché cover.
Gérard Bauer, a French columnist and novelist of the early 20th century, presents a psychological and social fiction about a Parisian building, where each floor corresponds to a different environment, atmosphere, and set of human destinies.
Fairly well-preserved overall: wear scratches on the caps (missing on the lower cap), insolated back along the length, slight play in the hinge, interior fresh and free of rust spots.
