Description from the seller
Rare 1960s Norexa Genève Bi-Compax Chronograph – Valjoux 7730 (Venus 188 lineage)
An exceptional vintage chronograph from the golden age of mechanical watchmaking, powered by the Valjoux 7730 — a caliber directly descended from the legendary Venus 188. When Valjoux acquired Venus in 1966, the celebrated Venus 188 was reissued as the Valjoux 7730, ensuring the continuation of one of the finest manually wound chronograph movements of its time.
This piece is a beautiful survivor from the late 1960s to early 1970s (circa 1971–72), remarkably well preserved both technically and visually. The watch has been recently serviced and runs flawlessly, keeping excellent time. Its near mint condition is truly rare — showing almost no signs of use despite its age of over 50 years.
The silver dial remains in superb condition, retaining its original blue and red tachymeter scale, which is usually the first element to fade. The 36mm stainless steel case presents sharp lines and a clean finish, with only the lightest traces of handling — consistent with careful storage rather than regular wear.
Fitted with a new, high-quality blue leather strap (19/16 mm) that harmonizes perfectly with the dial tones.
Dimensions:
Width (without crown): 36.0 mm
Width (with crown): 38.4 mm
Lug-to-lug: 43.2 mm
Lug width: 19.0 mm
Height: 12.4 mm
A true collector’s piece for those who appreciate the purity and balance of early 1970s design, offering “Carrera-style” charisma and a mechanical heart built to last.
A wonderful opportunity to acquire a timeless vintage chronograph with authentic Swiss heritage.
The watch will be securely packaged, registered, and fully insured for shipment.
