A gold plated Albert chain from 1850–1900 France, with a locket bearing a purple red layered stone and a gold cross, plus a musket hook and a locket pendant, weighing 35.5 g and 28 cm long.
Description from the seller
Beautiful antique watch chain with medallion.
This elegant pocket watch chain, also known as an Albert chain, is crafted in a warm rose gold tone, featuring a classic figaro link design. The chain is equipped with functional elements: a musketeer hook at one end to attach to a pocket watch, a large jump ring to pass through a buttonhole, and a smaller chain leading to the distinctive medallion.
The oval medal is inlaid on the front with purple-red layered stone, featuring a detailed gold-colored cross, indicating a religious or mourning significance – typical of Victorian jewelry. The back is decorated with fine stipple engravings. The medal opens like a locket for photos or a small keepsake.
Noted with SP, union, and title of Bray. This might possibly refer to Bray sur Seine.
