Revolving Art Deco photo frame from France, dating to circa 1920–1930, made of chromed or nickelled metal, with an open outer frame on a simple stand; the inner frame rotates 360 degrees to hold photos up to about 17.5 × 12.5 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and elegant revolving photo frame, showcasing a striking and minimalist design characteristic of the Art Deco and early Modernist period. This piece functions as a table-top display, allowing a photograph to be viewed from both sides by spinning the inner frame on its axis.
France ca 1920-1940
Art Deco / Modernist.
The clean, geometric lines of the rectangular frame, combined with the simple, curved stand (reminiscent of an artist's easel), emphasize function and form—a hallmark of the period's aesthetic shift away from ornate styles.
Nickeled or chromed metal
Features a sturdy, open outer frame supported by two simple, stylized legs. The inner frame, which holds the photograph, is suspended between two ball-finials, allowing it to rotate 360 degrees.
Condition: Good condition with minimal signs of wear. The mechanism is fully functional. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the description.
The frame currently holds an older black-and-white photograph of a woman in typical late-Victorian/Edwardian attire (c. 1890-1910), which is common for such family heirlooms. The picture is included. The frame is suitable for a photograph of approximately 17.5 x 12.5 cm.
