A piece of Mercedes-Benz history. Official/genuine factory drawing of the 300 SL. This is the official document marking the model's market launch in 1954. The first units would not begin to be delivered to customers until 1955.
The Mercedes 300 SL 'GullWing' is an automotive icon of the 1950s. It is considered the first supercar in history, notable for its revolutionary vertical-opening doors, a technical necessity derived from its tubular chassis. Its six-cylinder inline engine with direct injection made it a benchmark of technology and performance of its time. Introduced in 1954, this racing-derived model is a symbol of innovation, luxury, and timeless design.
