Recuerdos junto al mar, oil on canvas, 46 by 55 cm, Spain, 1970–1980, original, signed by Roberto Ruiz Morante (1941–2006).
Description from the seller
Roberto Ruiz Morante (Alicante, 1941 – 2006). Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 46 x 55 cm.
Work signed by the Alicante painter Roberto Ruiz Morante, an artist with a distinguished career in the second half of the 20th century. Trained at the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos (Valencia), he developed a figurative painting characterized by portraits and genre scenes, always marked by his human sensitivity and a sober yet deeply expressive language. Throughout his career, he participated in both solo and group exhibitions in various Spanish cities, being recognized in his homeland for his contribution to contemporary Alicante art.
The artwork depicts a heartfelt scene of everyday life: an elderly man sitting by the sea shares a small toy boat with a girl. The close gesture and the gaze of the older character convey tenderness and complicity, while the maritime horizon in the background situates the scene in a Mediterranean setting. The palette, dominated by ochres and blues, and the firm stroke of the figures reflect the artist's stylistic maturity, capable of blending naturalism and poetry in a single composition.
The canvas is presented without a frame.
