Description from the seller

Practical Treatise of the Criminal Instruction Code, with Formulas, Based on Bulletin of Laws No. 214 bis

A. G. Daubanton

At S. C. L'Huillier, Bookseller, 55 Saint-Jacques Street

In Paris, 1809

First Edition

Rare!

The Code of Criminal Instruction, enacted on November 16, 1808, is a collection of legal texts that organized criminal procedure in France until its repeal in 1958, when it was replaced by the Code of Criminal Procedure. It represents, overall, a successful synthesis between the principles of the Old Law and those inspired by the revolutionary period, providing the foundation of modern criminal procedure in many respects.

A. G. Daubanton, the author, was a former Justice of the Peace in Paris and the author of several dictionaries related to the Napoleonic codes (Civil Code, Code of Procedure, Commercial Code, and Criminal Instruction Code).

Complete opera, [xjjii]+607 pages, features numerous notes from the period in the margins.
Spine with wear and missing parts (especially in the lower part) and label with titles, plates with folds at the edges.
Good overall condition, internal pages with folds and ragged edges, sporadic browning.

Work that is extremely difficult to find on the market.
