Printed in London in 1780 and illustrated with numerous spectacular engravings, some of them fold-outs: the amphitheater and the Roman circus, the Domus Aurea (Nero's grand palace), a representation of a naumachia (naval battle in the amphitheater), busts of various emperors, a map of Rome, etc. Very rare in trade, especially complete with engravings and all in such excellent condition! Only one copy in Spain according to the CCPB (Collective Catalog of Bibliographic Heritage), preserved at the Royal Academy of History, Madrid. Volume XIII of the monumental Universal History compiled by original authors, covering the history of the Romans. Typographic engraving on the cover with a Doric column and the legend In recto decus. Ex-libris in the guard with a crown guarded by two griffins, from the Armathwaite library. A careful London edition on high-quality paper.
