It is one of the most important photographic books on the political movements of the 1970s - 1977, alongside those by Uliano Lucas. Aldo Bonasia (1949 – 1995) was one of the photographers who best documented street protests and clashes in a black-and-white Milan that seems to belong to another era today. 'Io in Divisa' features about sixty photographs focused on police officers in combat gear or civilian clothing. The text is accompanied by an essay excerpt from Luigi Salerno's 'Enciclopedia di Polizia.' Among the entries are: 'Abortion' (...) 'Crime,' which harms the moral health and the harmonious development of our people; 'Homosexuality.' It is described as the most serious aberration of sexual instinct, involving attraction to individuals of the same sex, with active, passive, or opposing tendencies. Karl Marx 'proved to be a master of great ingenuity,' then an idealistic and heartless communist, reducing the social question to mere material interest and preaching immediate revolution, without regard for the consequences of war and bloodshed that would follow.
