Description from the seller

Antique Russian Orthodox Icon: Mother of God of Kazan (Kazanskaya) with Oklad and Cloisonné Enamel
This is a fine example of a 20th-century Russian Orthodox icon, depicting the highly revered Mother of God of Kazan.

Material: The icon is covered by a richly decorated metal oklad (or riza), which appears to be silver-plated. Please note: the silver content has not been tested or hallmarked, so it is offered as verzilverd (silver-plated) without guarantee of purity. The halo is embellished with vibrant cloisonné enamel work. The back of the icon is covered with orange/brown velvet.

Condition: The oklad shows a deep, natural oxidation (patina). The faces (liks) are visible through the cutouts in the oklad and appear to be in good antique condition. Please note there is one small piece of cloisonné enamel missing from the halo decoration. The overall condition is consistent with its age.
