A traditional Takaoka Dōki bronze Ayu (sweetfish) Bunchin paperweight, with its original Tomobako wooden box and cloth, made in Japan circa 1970–1980, in good condition with minor aging and scratches; dimensions height 3.5 cm, width 3 cm, depth 16 cm.
Description from the seller
A traditional Takaoka Dōki (高岡銅器) bronze paperweight in the shape of an Ayu (sweetfish), used as a calligraphy desk weight (文鎮 Bunchin). This piece comes with its original wooden box (Tomobako 共箱) and cloth.
The item was stored for many years in the seller’s grandfather’s warehouse. It shows some scratches and natural aging, but remains fully functional and retains a warm bronze patina typical of Takaoka metalwork.
Suitable for collectors of Japanese bronze works, desk display, or Shodō calligraphy practice.
