A late 19th century sterling silver fluted vase by Sir Frederic Leighton, London-hallmarked .925 with date letter P (1890) and WBJ maker marks, height 18 cm, top diameter 9 cm, foot diameter 7.3 cm, net weight 308 g, from the United Kingdom, in excellent condition with minor wear and engraved initials plus a commemorative inscription.

Exceptional quality hand crafted late 19th century sterling silver elegant fluted vase, engraved with initials and commemorative inscription "Leighton July 21st and 22nd 1891"
On July 21st 1891, Lord Frederic Leighton exhibited the marble sculpture "An Athlete wrestling with a Python" at the Royal Academy
Fully hallmarked London Assay Office guarantee for sterling 925 silver and date letter "P" for 1890, together with Walter & John Barnard silversmith's mark "WBJ". Also number 401
