Splendid Russian devotional icon in cast bronze, depicting at the center the Archangel Michael, shown frontally with outstretched wings, military attire, and a radial halo. The central image is framed by a series of circular medallions, each containing the figure of a saint with inscriptions in ecclesiastical Slavic.
The decorative border is enriched with vegetal and intertwined motifs, which confer great elegance and prestige to the plaque.
The backfield shows traces of blue and white enamels, original to the period. The iconography and structure refer to the production of late 18th-century and early 19th-century Russian workshops, which are highly sought after by collectors.
