Description from the seller

Franklin Mint 'Battle of Waterloo'
The game pieces represent the opposing armies in the Battle of Waterloo, with the king represented by Emperor Napoleon on the French side and the Duke of Wellington on the English side. The game features a series of historical personalities.

The 32 chess figures, made of solid tin and brass, are richly detailed, three-dimensional portrait sculptures of the heroes of the opposing armies. Each figure was designed by the esteemed military artist Philip J. Haythornthwaite. No detail was overlooked, from facial expressions to uniforms with buttons and braiding. The tin figures each stand on a brass base, decorated with a band of luminous enamel — blue for the French and red for the Allies.
The pieces vary in height from approximately 4 to 5.5 cm.
The chessboard also serves as a lid for the box in which the pieces are stored.
Dimensions: approx. 34 x 34 x 7 cm
Material: dark wood, underside of the board covered with dark blue velour.
The game board shows slight signs of wear.
It was only issued by the Waterloo Museum through Franklin Mint via direct order.

Shipping method: Parcel, insured
