Edelhout - Edelhout - Platter - Walnut without

A scale from a part of a walnut tree trunk. It concerns a European walnut, recognizable by the sharply contrasting light sapwood against the dark heartwood. Apart from this two-tone coloration, traces of mold can be found in the light wood, which give the wood its character.

The bowl is finished with a finish based on vegetable oils and resins, including linseed oil, pine oil, rosemary oil, and wax. The oil is free of substances such as lead, cobalt, manganese, or zirconium. Initially very fluid, the oil penetrates the wood fibers well. After curing, the oil provides good protection against moisture and dirt.
