6 Early XXth Century damask linen napkins with L.F.. initials - Textile - 63 cm - 80 cm

A set of 6 damask linen napkins with L.F. initials.
In all the years I have handled and loved Antique French linen
this is only the second time I have been able to obtain these napkins
with the rare design with initials.
They arrived from the same source as the bed linen which we have been
showing over the past 6 months.
The source is a chateau , not far from where I reside.
The charming couple are becoming of age and are slowly
disposing of their linen which goes back 3 to 4 generations.
The children, grand-and great grand children are not at all interested
as it means too much care and work involved.
The damask design is fairly simple ,but elegant.
The initials are very intricately embroidered
The initials L.F. are sitting in a frame of what appear to be a garland of shaped ribbons.
The design is repeated at the borders with in between scatterings of snow flakes.
The centre has scatterings of single open flowers.
