The author
Originally from Matemale, in the Catalan Pyrenees, Georges Bartoli divides his time between his hometown and the fields of the world where women and men work, struggle, or try to rebuild their lives.
After several years in regional press (Midi Libre, L’Indépendant), he turned to social photojournalism, in France and abroad. He collaborated with L’Humanité, AFP, REA, then with Reuters and Maxppp, before becoming completely independent.
His work mainly focuses on social struggles, the world of work, alter-globalization, peasantry, as well as territories like Palestine or Venezuela.

“L’œil du Douard” is dedicated to all lovers of photography.
This site offers prints from my personal collection featuring renowned "signatures", as well as prints entrusted to me by collectors for private sale. The proofs are mostly printed manually and using the silver process.
In 2019, with the creation of the Atelier/Galerie Taylor in Paris, I extend another way of the medium. Transmit, accompany and promote the work of photographers who are dear to me, both from the 20th century and more contemporary.
The images offered here touch me, challenge me, sometimes question, often inspire. Thank you to all those who have nourished my life path with their precious presence and support over the years and tomorrow!
