AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

6 Damask linen napkins with G.P. initials.
These napkins date back to the end of the 19th Century
and certainly have had a life.
My belief is that they were pieces embroidered by
a school leaving girl for her final sewing and embroidery examination
and done in single and fine "petit point" cross stitch.
The reason being is that each napkin's initials is slightly
differently embroidered and I suppose that is what makes
them so much more individual instead of a stereo type piece.
Also the dimensions of the initials varies from one napkin to another.
But what does it matter. At least it shows that they were not
machine embroidered.
The design of the letters is brilliantly done and very artistic
and certainly well achieved.
Please note that some of the initials have become lighter in colour;
This has nothing to do with the quality, but moreover these were more often used
and thus more often hand washed.
