Description from the seller
A rare and collectible lot of two signed and limited first editions by Kostis Bastias and Costas Taktsis (Tachtsis), two of the most important yet very different representatives of modern Greek prose.
1. Μηνάς ο Ρέμπελος, Κουρσάρος στο Αιγαίο (Minas the Rebel, Corsair in the Aegean) – Kostis Bastias

Edition: First, numbered and limited to 1/30, here Nr. 7 – Hand-signed and dedicated by the author
Pages: 346 | Dimensions: 18.3 cm × 13 cm
Condition: Good vintage condition
This historical novel marked the beginning of Bastias’s trilogy on Orthodoxy, later followed by Papoulakos and Papadiamantis. In 1940, composer Manolis Kalomiris adapted the work into a symphonic poem of the same name, further enhancing its cultural significance.
2. Η γιαγιά μου ή Αθήνα (My Grandmother Athens) – Costas Taktsis
Publisher: Ermis, Athens, 1979

An autobiographical collection of stories in which Taktsis blends inner poetry with vivid portraits of Athenian neighbourhood life. Playfully, he compares his grandmother’s flaws and manipulative charm to the complexities of the city itself.
