Good overall condition, with stains, scuffs, dents, and various tears, although the spines are quite spared. There are traces of exposure to humidity on some volumes, though very limited, visible at the bottom of the spines and on a few pages, with a small tear on the first page of Volume I, and a small tear at the bottom of the title page and the preceding page of Volume XII. The books are completely dry, with no particular odor. The pages are generally in very good condition, with some scattered foxing. A beautiful set (see photos).
