The merchant Ambroise Vollard, who opened his gallery on rue Laffitte in 1895, introduced Cézanne, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso...
This is the perfect facsimile of the most famous art edition by Ambroise Vollard, published in 1900, originally limited to only 200 copies: 'Parallèlement,' a reissue of the collection of erotic poetry published by Verlaine in 1889, five years before his death.
This edition faithfully reproduces one of the copies distributed before censorship, specifically those bearing the mention 'Paris, Imprimerie Nationale' printed on the title page and still containing the preliminary leaf stating 'Printed by special decision of Mr. the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice'.
