2022 Comando G 'Rumbo al Norte' Navarrevisca - Cebreros - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Rumbo al Norte is Comando G’s greatest wine. This comes from a 0.3 hectare plot of extremely old garnacha vines yoked among gigantic granite boulders. The wine is fermented whole cluster followed by a 50 day maceration. It ages for 14 moths in 1,200-liter used barriques. The vines are planted at 1200m and face north and the vines ripen very slowly creating astonishing complexity—harvest takes place well into October. The wine is very pale, quiet walls of roses, musk melon, thyme and bay, red bursting berries and desert flowers, aged bergamot tea and roasted grapefruit. The tannins are fine and the wine has such a fresh and moving wholeness. Like stumbling suddenly, unexpectedly into peace.
