A refined 1906 illustrated edition of Benjamin Rozes with original lithographs by Miklos Vadasz bound by Lucien Durvand in a prunelle half morocco, one of 130 small format copies on Arches vellum.
Description from the seller
Copy bound in a lovely binding signed by Lucien Durvand (1852-1924), perfectly executed in plum half-morocco, with a gold filet along the covers; the smooth spine decorated with a fine mosaic pattern composed of ivory and ochre leather leaves and fleurs-de-lis, gold fillets, and a title in gold letters. Gilt top. Durvand was one of the best binders of his time and received a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
Illustrated edition for bibliophiles limited to 350 copies, this one being number 285, in the in-8 soleil format, on Vélin d'Arches paper.
New illustrated collection of original works by Hungarian painter Miklos Vadasz (1884-1927), impression by etching by Porcabeuf.
Very beautiful copy, binding in excellent condition, spine rubbed and very minor wear at the head and tail. Interior impeccable.
