A delightfully illustrated work of Margaret Plues (Margaret Plues is British botanist and writer, Plues was known primarily for her popular botanical books that include ‘Rambles in Search of Ferns’ (1861), ‘Rambles in Search of Moses’ (1861), and ‘Rambles in Search of Flowerless Plants’ (1863)).

Illustrated with 16 fine hand-coloured plates of flowers (total of 96 figures). Each plate is composed of six hand coloured images. Published by George Bell and Sons. London, 1879. Publishers’ original green bevelled boards, spine lettered in gilt, upper cover with floral design in gilt within black line border. Top page edges gilt.

Book Dimensions: 20 x 14 cm and Number of Pages: 364 including index + 21 pages of a classified catalogue

Condition
Firm and well-bound copy. External covers are clean and in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spin. Internally; the book is in very good condition. Printed owners name within neat sticker on inside front cover page. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at the gutter. Text is fresh, and pages are very clean. All plates are present and bright (Nice Copy) (Please see pictures).
