Seven Pillars of Wisdom is the autobiographical account of the experiences of British soldier T. E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918.

Item Description
Only 170 complete copies of the first edition of 1926 were privately printed primarily for family and friends. This copy is the first impression of the first edition for general circulation printed in 1935.

The book includes an introduction, 10 books, 2 appendix of ‘Nominal Roll’ Places, Personal Names, and Index. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece of Lawrence, 53 Full page portraits, and 4 folding maps.

Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1935. Original Sand-coloured cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper board with centre gilt motto of double crossed swords ('The sword also means clean-ness and death'). Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers in nice shape, some fading to covers and slight crease to top spine. Internally the book in Excellent condition (the book appears not fully read as several pages still connected and uncut since its publications). Old name and date of 1935 on top first blank front free endpaper page. Pages are clean, rough cut page edges since its publication. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text and plates are clean and bright (Collectible First Edition Copy) (Please see pictures).
