Description from the seller

Zbigniew Gostomski (1932 - 2017), without title, 1988.

Silver gelatine print, 30.2 x 21.2 cm. The photograph is inserted into a folder. This is labeled with "Galeria Foksal, S.B.W.A Warszawa, ul. Foksal 1/4, Grudzen 1988." It is probably an invitation to an opening of an exhibition at Galeria Foksal.

Condition: Good condition. Slight rubbing on the illustration as well as wear of the folder. Photos are part of the condition description.

Zbigniew Gostomski (*November 14, 1932, in Bydgoszcz; †July 24, 2017, in Otwock) was a versatile Polish artist – painter, photographer, stage actor, and professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
He studied painting under Professor Michał Bylina from 1953 to 1959 and then taught at the Academy. He was a co-founder of the influential Galeria Foksal (first exhibition 1966) and worked as an actor with Tadeusz Kantor at the theater director "Cricot 2".

The displayed image – from the historical recordings of Galeria Foksal, from the 1980s – shows Gostomski in a constructive-esthetic environment. It can be seen as an archive-worthy portrait or moment capture of a talented individual.
