Edict of August 14, 1719, prohibiting any individual from stopping the flow of sources and streams by means of sluices in areas where mills lack water, under penalty of three hundred livres in fines, damages, and interests. The text reports the critical situation of mills in several bailiwicks of Dauphiné, the droughts of summer 1719, and the abuses committed by certain owners diverting water to irrigate their lands. It is followed by the general publication ordered by the Court on August 23, 1719, with certification by the deputies of the procureur général. Printed in Grenoble by Gaspard Giroud, with a title mark, engraved bandeau, and large initial. Well-preserved laid paper, some marginal wear without damage to the text, untrimmed edges, a fine copy. Rare on the market, of interest for the history of provincial law and hydraulic practices under the Ancien Régime.
