Exceptional work entirely engraved, in in-folio format, adorned with 29 remarkable anatomy plates (depicting skeletons, dissections, and human organs). These plates were engraved in the 18th century by anatomist engraver Etienne Charpentier (1707-1792); but also by Vasseur, Danzel, and Mathey.

The other announced plates (it is said in the title 'about sixty') are the plates of texts accompanying the engravings, totaling 29 plates as well, for a total of 58 plates; all preceded by a title according to Boucher and a warning page (also engraved).

Very beautiful boards, mostly showing angular staining, increasingly lighter as the pages progress (touching the board lightly). A small hole in the margin of each page. Overall in good condition. A fine copy to be bound.

Impressive study of the human body, very detailed (and very comprehensive), allowing appreciation of the advances in the medical and surgical fields in the 18th century.
